Narrative Illustration Research. A Look at the bug’s part 2

Grasshopper
The character Old Green Grasshopper is specified as being a Short Horned Grasshopper in the book. Short Horned Grasshopper are not a spices but the term is used to cover a huge selection of different species of grasshopper. The Short Horned Grasshopper have short antennae which is where their name originates. Most in this category are green or light brown in colouration, often being small in build.
Differential Grasshoppers fit into the Short Horn category and are light green/ yellow in colouration. They can also be found in the UK which makes them a good contender for the character.

Silk worm

Silk worm in the original book was probably the least expanded upon character. She didn’t tend to do much and her overall personality was lazy.
A Silk Worm is not a Worm but is actually a Moth Caterpillar. They are white in colouration but have dark patches along their body, this includes their face and legs. Being caterpillars they have fleshy body’s with short stumpy legs. Most famously these animals produce silk through a gland, this would be used to make a cocoon in the wild but is mass harvested by humans for clothing production.

Spider

Spider is a shy character who is very self-aware and concious of opinions. She thinks everyone hates her but she doesn’t know why.
It’s not stated what sepcies of spider the character may be but it’s safe to assume she might be a house spider. The common house spider is a fairly well recognised spider living in UK households. They are a harmless specices but are often killed as they live in often chaotic environments. Notably they often have feather patterns across there abdominal region.
