People and Characters. Evaluation of exhibition

Last night was our open event, the Folio Gallery Exhibition. Our group's work had been complete for a few days. I found drawing on the walls to be fine but working on the roof was very difficult for me. I think the minimum colour pallet of black, white and blue works well for my drawing. The Exhibition event was private to family and friends with free drinks. I’m glad to have completed this project with plenty of spare time. I’m very happy with the final result and I think everybody.s work fit well together. It’s been an enjoyable project and a bit different to what I often do.

Below are some photos of the completed piece.

Digital manipulation. New Project

This week we began our new project Digital Manipulation which is about using digital methods to create an illustration. Some illustrators create an entire illustration in programs such as Photoshop and some others only use it to clean up images. I want to begin my project by looking at some artists who use digital techniques in their work, they are listed below.

He began his talk by showing us what he finds inspiring. He talked a lot about travel posters from the 1950s and the work of Harry Stevens. He collects strange pottery with characters painted onto them.

During the talk several people in the crowd asked questions, a lot of them were about commissions and how he makes his work. He replied that he makes his work in Adobe Illustrator which I found interesting. It was interesting to hear the answers from a professional. I’m not a huge fan of Sean Sims work and style but It was a good experience to meet a professional.

Above is an example of his work and below is a link to his web page
